Project Name
Developing Christlike Characteristics
including growing spiritually, socially and emotionally is part of everyday.

Classes begin with prayer every day! The Word of God is shared through Chapel, roleplaying Biblical characters, activities and crafts, Bible reading, discipleship courses, open discussions to give a few examples. Students also learn to serve and bless others in and out of the classroom. Opportunities are given to participate in outreach activities, help with food drives, assisting elderly with various needs, writing letters of encouragement, and other projects as they arise. Our students were excited to help flood victims in the mountains of Western NC collecting supplies and delivering them.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is an essential component of education that focuses on developing core skills such as empathy, communication, and self-awareness. Students are taught invaluable tools to manage their emotions and make good choices.

We use a variety of programs to teach students about emotions and assist to navigate social relationships.
One program the students particularly enjoy interacting with is Scribble Spot (a character and program created by Diane Alber). Students participate in classes that may include Scribble Spot Read-Alongs, fun hands-on activities, games, group role playing and class discussions. This approach supports the development of skills such as self-control, self-concept, empathy, teamwork, and responsible decision-making including equipping students with tools on how to regulate emotions like anger, worry, anxiety, confidence, frustration, and boredom in a positive manner.

Christian Character Development
The Bible tells us in Galatians 5:22-25...
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Christian character development in children is a vital aspect of their growth and development. It involves instilling virtues such as honesty, responsibility, and trustworthiness, which are essential for a child's moral and ethical development.
Building Godly character is not built overnight, it is developed through a process involving experience, hard work, and learning from past mistakes. Students are taught by example, participate in group discussions, do interactive worksheets and make fun crafts. Heroes of the Bible course is an amazingly simple tool we use to help students with sometimes hard to understand material relate to Bible characters who are just like you and me to learn from their success and failures. Students grasp that all actions have consequences whether good or not so great and how their actions affect not only themselves but others.

Character is a lifetime process of growing ever closer to God and relying on Him. Through prayer, study of the Word, team building exercises and shared discussions students are encouraged to develop honesty, integrity, humility, a forgiving spirit, fairness, respect, kindness, being responsible and reliability and the fruit of the Spirit.
